A basic tutorial to show you how I re-paint plastic eyes that are used on plush toys, you can use this technique to make eyes appear much brighter/colourful as well as add colour to clear plastic eyes.

Do you have any helpful tips on how to take dark brown eyes and repaint them as solid black?
I don't want to repaint the front simply because I worry about the paint getting scratched or chipped off 8/

Not easy as dark colours are difficult to repaint. It would be easier to either buy clear eyes and paint them black, or get solid black "bead" eyes (they are often sold as round noses but can be used as eyes).

how did u get the eyes on?

Poke a little hole into the fabric, then the plastic eye goes in, and a round disc slots onto the pin at the back of the eye, it goes all the way down and is then locked into place.

I got them from a fabric shop (Fabric Land). Most craft stores sell them :) you can also find them on Ebay and Etsy.

but what are they called? thats what i want to know

Ah ^^ no problem; they are known mostly as:

Craft eyes
Plush eyes
Teddy eyes
Plastic animal eyes
Safety craft eyes

As you can see, people call them different things, so if looking for them online its best to use more than one name to search for them.
